In 2014 the "Academy Award" had the film "Whiplash" was nominated for was produced by Blumhouse. This allowed Blumhouse to be nominated for the "Academy Award for Best Picture". Finally the company also has a deal with Universal Pictures for 10 years.
Analysing the Blumhouse production logo at the start of each film gives across a dark feeling and shows a very big essence of a supernatural present. The chair and the book are floating and moving around in the air. This shows a supernatural effect as they are likely to be controlled by a greater being rather than a human. The door slamming at the start creates a sense of isolation as it shows that the viewer is trapped within the horror film. Then the final scare is the girl. dressed in all white it shows that she is innocent and pure but as she turns around we can see that she is being possessed and therefore will be dangerous. This allows the viewer to know that this film is going to be scary and also once again put across a supernatural element.
The state of the building also can give across a horror feeling. The walls are a dull brown colour which can give a sinister sense and the only light except for the one at the end is coming from the windows. This once again gives the dark feeling to the audience. Another concept that is shown in the room is that the walls and roof re falling apart. This shows heavy light coming into the room and for me it shows a supernatural element. I think this because the cracks could symbolise a void between this dimension and another dimension which could be a way how supernatural occurrences like demonic possessions happen.
Finally I am going to talk about the title of the production company. It is laid out across two walls with the house being a house. This could show a split in the company of what type of sub genre they use or it could show that the house is in between two worlds and that how supernatural occurrences happen (like the craps in the walls). The light is rocking back and forth which gives an uneasy feeling which is good for horror movies. The title is in yellow which is similar to the light. I think that this is good as it could show a safe haven for the characters within the film and give a feeling that they might survive or at least have a fighting chance. As well as that with the colour being brighter than most of the room you are able to see what production company you are viewer and could be a way to advertise bother movies if they like this film.

Ghost House PicturesGhost House pictures was founded in 2002 by Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert. This American film company has been making a different variety of horror films for years. All of these films have made a high gross profit and one of them is a iconic and famous movie. This is 'The Grudge" and made them $187.3 gross profit with only a $10 million budget. Their most recent film that has been released is "Don't Breathe". This is currently screening at cinema and is a big hit in the horror industry. The opening title of Ghost House is a camera looking through a key hole and then a ghost pushing forward into the lens.
|
At the start the camera has a view of a door and heads into the key hole. The door is old and wooden which can symbolise that the company has been round for many years and that their horrors can be classic hits in the future. Since the camera is moving forward and round into the key hole it can show that the movie is taking the next step and it also can be a cliche horror action. Finally the door can also symbolise that the house in haunted and since the company is called Ghost house it is rememberable for the viewer.
When the camera looks through the key hole a skull pops up. I think that this can show the ghost and can give across the supernatural elements due to the opacity given. The skull can also give a horror itself as it violently peers through the key hold directly into the camera. This may scare some of the viewers and prepare them for the film ahead. It can also be shown as a person connection between the company and the viewer maybe making them want to watch more of their films.
The final area that i will be looking over is the title. Since the text is white and the skull is also white is can represent ghosts in the house. Once again this can give a supernatural incite for the viewer and can show bits of what their film is about. The text is also positioned around the key hole which shows that the company still wants the viewer to see ghosts and link it with them. This will overall allow them to be remembered by the public and will help them gain customers in the future with more films.

Twisted PicturesTwisted pictures was founded in 2004 and is an independent American horror film production company. It was founded by Mark Burg, Gregg Hoffman and Oren Koules. This film company has created many iconic films such as The Tortured, Dead Silence and the Catacombs. Although these films are good and have made millions in gross profit world wide they are mostly known for having created the Saw series. These films are very popular and known well by all horror fans around the world.

When looking over their title sequence I first of all notice that it has a black background. This is used for a non-distracting background for the audience to really pay attention to the title and the affect that they have used. This will allow the name and the image of the slasher to stick in the audience's head.
Linking in with the background the production company has also used a white colour on the text. This makes sure that it completely stand out and in seen by the audience. They have also used a standard font so that it is easy to be able to read. This will overall illuminate the text and make it stand out which will get it into audience's head. This could allow then to gain reputation and possibly obtain more sales from future films.
Finally moving away from the background and the text I also think that they have used a good animation. One the wires are good as it covered the text and then gets tightened. This could show a horror aspect of someone being trapped or it could symbolise that the audience is tapped in and watching their movie. I also like the use of the stake as it gives across a slasher aspect to the company. This can give an audience an idea of what film they are about to watch.

Our Production Company Logo
|
This is our production company logo that we will use at the start of a trailer. I have made it only 5 seconds long as I do not want it to take up much time of the trailer over the content that I want to put across. We are 'Blood Shot Productions' and I wanted to interpret that in the design of the logo. I have achieved this goal by taking a motion image of an eye and changed the colour and exposure so that it looks bloodshot. In the pupil of the eye I have also made it look like the sun dawning over our world. This could be associated with your horrors looking over the world and making people fear our movies.
|
The font I have used is in red so it can match the colours and also it is in big bold text so people clearly what production company it is. Over all with the image and the overpowering red colour it will be easy to remember the company and may help able to sell more of our films with a good movie.
